How to make Siri respond to "Hey Alex"

This is how to make Siri respond to "Hey Alex" on macOS, it does not work on iOS or iPadOS.

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click "Accessibility".
  3. Scroll down and click "Voice Control".
  4. Make sure Voice Control is enabled.
  5. Click "Commands...".
  6. Click the plus icon in the lower left corner of the window.
  7. Enter "Hey Alex" in the "When I say field".
  8. Leave the "While using" field as "Any Application".
  9. For the "Perform" field select "Run Workflow" > "Other...".
  10. In the file selection window, select "/Applications/Siri.app" by pressing ⌘⇧G, typing /Applications/Siri.app and pressing enter twice.
  11. Finally click "Done".

Open Script Editor and click New Document. Then paste the following code into the AppleScript text area.

Now saying "Hey Alex" will bring up Siri.
